How Will We Teach in A (Post)-Pandemic Canada?

πŸ“… Date: Monday, December 6, 2021
πŸ•– Time: 7:00 - 8:30 PM (ET)

Real change in education requires strong and trusted connections between researchers and the professionals that count on that research to inform and improve their practice.

In an ideal world, education research, practice and policy-making would connect in a type of virtuous circle to advance professional knowledge about teaching and learning. We know, however, that despite the best intentions of academics and educators, there’s a longstanding tension between those familiar calls for more evidence-based practice, on the one hand, and relevant, usable education research, on the other, which point to the need to imagine new ways of revitalizing the relationship between researchers, educators and policy-makers.

In this 90-minute virtual gathering, EdCan and voicEd Radio will empower educators to discuss the complexities of their everyday challenges in an open and engaging conversation with our four featured researchers while unpacking our key question:

Who should attend: Teachers, school district administrators, teacher candidates, education graduate students, teacher training faculty members and education policy-makers with a keen interest in how research can be used as a powerful tool to influence practice.

Main learning takeaway: A greater understanding of how this research can influence practice, while also understanding how to influence and inspire academics to produce research that can best support today’s classroom needs.
